Description:

Primary Function:
- You will also be responsible for the safe operation of injection moulding or second operations machinery and ancillary equipment, as directed by the Shift Production Manager, within the shift pattern
- Ensure that machinery is kept clean and that the surrounding areas are cleaned according to procedure
- Maintain product quality and documentation at all times
Key Responsibilities:
- To correctly follow and observe all local documentation and procedures relevant to the process, including the inspection criteria to ensure that the quality of the product is maintained
- To co-operate fully within the team and with team members to practise the philosophy of total quality – continuous improvement and work towards multiskilling of all operations
- To practise methods to eliminate waste
- To work diligently to help ensure targets are met
- To actively find ways to increase productivity within the team
- To accept the importance of, and work with, supporting departments such as quality, engineering etc.
- To ensure that company policy on such matters as health and safety, training, discipline, housekeeping and security etc. are followed at all times
- To actively support problem solving and improvement within the team
- To assist in machine setting and mould setting when requested by qualified personnel
- To be seen to be an active team member in the building of trust and integrity
- On-going development and training, both theory and practical

Job Content:
- With specific direction from the Shift Production Manager the job holder operates injection moulding or second operations machinery to achieve set targets
- Participates and contributes to the concept of teamwork on an ongoing basis
- Manage and maintain all paperwork for the area of work, including product documentation, testing and quality management
Tasks include:
- Lifting boxes from pallets stacked 5 boxes high- boxes can weigh anything from 4kg-18kg and are lifted potentially every 6 minutes in an 11 hour shift
- Loading the machines
- Inserting the coils (can weigh between 4kg-30kg depending on the coil needed) on various machines
- Sorting the caps when they come out
- Bending to assemble cardboard boxes and load caps into boxes
- Lifting boxes from floor level to shoulder height, and stacking the boxes five high on a pallet
- Checking quality of work
- Maintain paperwork and documentation to support all tasks carried out
- Some machines require additional tasks such as fitting parts
- Ensuring health and safety in the work place
- Correctly following and observing processes
