Training provided:
All training to be delivered in the classroom one day a week, on a one to one basis with tutor/assessor support


The work involves processing hay into machines for baling, assembling and checking product, ensuring that all machinery run smoothly, assisting in the shipment of items.

  • Start/end production machinery at beginning/end of shift in line with Standard Operating Procedure (SOP)
  • Monitor equipment to ensure that products are being produced properly. Pay close attention to detail and product quality- especially against 3rd party accreditation criteria
  • Make sure the workstation is clean, free of hazardous materials and is familiar with all factory safety procedures and guidelines. With particular attention to equipment and the factory floor
  • Address problems with production equipment and machinery and fixes them as need or report them promptly.  Demonstrate ability to interpret equipment gauges and monitors on factory equipment. Possess knowledge of the structure and function of production of malfunctions with machinery and equipment
  • Complete scheduled maintenance tasks of both plant, equipment and building fabric
  • Observe and remove faulty product from production line.  Inspects products to ensure they adhere to quality standards
  • Affix labels, company logos and other exterior details to products.  Finish completed products and prepare them for shipment
  • Unloading/loading vehicles of finished products and incoming goods
  • Report issues or problems with production to Operations Manager.  Demonstrate analytical thinking and problem-solving skills necessary to troubleshoot production issues.  Ensures that all production deadlines are met
  • Assist with harvesting, bale haulage, crop husbandry, bale drying, stacking of bales and recording of weights/moisture contents etc
  • Stock management and husbandry, ensuring the correct feedstock for products is used; reporting shortfalls, quality or production issues promptly
  • Wear correct PPE and keep it in serviceable condition
  • Adhere to the Company Health and Safety policy
  • Ensure that production data recording is conducted in an accurate and timely manner; recording production outputs, wastage, raw material, usage, bale consumption, outrages and other factors against production targets
  • Any other ad-hoc tasks as required
