Qualifications required:

  • GCSE maths and English grades A*-C or 4-9 are essential

Desired skills:
  • Some exposure/interest/qualification with electronics
  • Some industry or work experience
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Good dexterity
Personal qualities:
  • Honest, reliable and punctual
  • Willingness to listen and learn new skills

Training provided:
Level 2 apprenticeship in Performing Manufacturing Operations, which includes:

  • Performing Manufacturing Operations NVQ - Apprenticeship to include EAL Diploma and Level 2 Industrial Environmental Awareness
  • Functional Skills in maths and English up to Level 2 where required and Employment Rights and Responsibilities
  • You will have an individual learning plan and a designated trainer who will deliver your training on-site at your place of work
You will have access to your own online e-portfolio to monitor your progress and access resources. You will be assigned a Trainer who specialises in teaching and delivering the Performing Manufacturing qualification; they will be with you during your sessions in the centre and also make regular visits to see you in your place of work. Sessions are kept small to ensure each learner gets the correct support and guidance throughout the duration of their apprenticeship.


DJ Assembly Ltd, an electronic manufacturing service provider, is seeking a Manufacturing Apprentice to strengthen the factory team due to increasing workload following the winning of several new contracts.

The successful candidate will be studying City & Guilds Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Manufacturing Operations.

The role:-

  • This Apprenticeship will enable you to learn all aspects throughout the manufacturing process, gaining experience in different departments such as stores, surface mount assembly and test.
  • During the apprenticeship you will be supported by a mentor who will help you to develop your skills. Training will be a combination of work based and tutor led training.
  • The term of your apprenticeship will be between 12-14 months and in addition to receiving a nationally recognised qualification, you will develop skills and gain valuable on the job work experience.
  • For the right person there is the opportunity to progress to a permanent position with further training.
