Training provided:

  • Level 3 - Assistant Accountant
  • Functional Skills where required
The successful candidate will undertake an Intermediate and Advanced Level Apprenticeship in Accountancy and will undertake classes by day release from your place of work.


To assist in the smooth running of the day to day finance function. To develop financial skills through an Apprenticeship scheme and practical workplace tasks, with a view to taking on additional responsibility over time.

As an Apprentice Accountant, you will be responsible for:-

  • Ensuring that purchase invoices are processed in a timely and accurate manner
  • Matching of purchase invoices to delivery notes and purchase orders
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements
  • Ensure all purchase invoices are coded accurately
  • Assist in the month end process working to tight deadlines
  • Processing of cash received and paid relating to the sale and purchase ledger
  • Ad hoc finance work as required

A typical day:-

  • Communicating with suppliers by email, phone and online chat
  • Organising your workload and helping the workload of others to meet deadlines
  • Assisting with Purchase Ledger
  • Assisting with the preparation of management accounts
  • Assisting with year-end accounts preparations
  • Assisting with business projects
  • Reconciliation of supplier statements, invoices and delivery note
