Qualifications required:

  • GCSE grades A*-C in Maths and English (or the equivalent) is essential
  • Full clean driving licence is desirable but not essential

Training provided:
The successful candidate will undertake an Advanced Apprenticeship in Business Administration, together with Functional Skills in Maths and English where necessary.


You will work under the indirect supervision of the Managing Partner and undertake tasks and duties delegated by the Head of Finance following policy and procedures. You will support and assist the Managing Partner in the provision of patient care at all practice sites or establishments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities to be undertaken by members of the finance administration team may include any or all the items in the following list. Duties may be varied from time to time under the direction of the Head of Finance / Managing Partner, dependent on current and evolving Practice workload and staffing levels:

  • Assist with processing Non-NHS work such as patients’ private insurance and medical reports
  • Computer data entry / data allocation and collation, processing and recording information in accordance with Practice procedures
  • Filing and retrieving paperwork both manually and electronically
  • Initiating contact with and responding to requests from patients, other team members and associated healthcare agencies and providers
  • Assist with the processing of sales invoices and receipt of payments for private work and carry out credit control using an online system
  • Assisting in the processing of accounts
  • Assist with the ordering of stationery and stock
  • Taking messages and passing on information
  • Providing clerical assistance to Practice staff as required from time to time including word / data processing, filing, photocopying and scanning
  • Processing and distributing incoming and outgoing mail
  • Provision of refreshments for staff and visitors as required, loading and emptying the dishwasher and keeping the kitchen area clean and tidy
  • Helping to maintain hygiene control measures
