Tomorrow it’s A Level results day. You’ve worked so hard and waited for a long time….and before you know it, the results will be in your hand.
So, after Results Day, what’s next for you? What do you want to be? What do you want to do with your future?
Some of you may have got a place at University but be having second thoughts. University is not for everyone and maybe you don’t want to be burdened by the debt associated with going down that route. Others may still be unsure what to do next.
One of the routes you may be considering is apprenticeships and on our website you can find lots of useful information – both for you and also for your parents.
We tell you more about the benefits of apprenticeships, which apprenticeships YH delivers, and you’ll be able to view our latest apprenticeship vacancies. We’ve also got a Questions & Answers section where we’ve tried to answer lots of the frequently asked questions….but don’t worry, we’re here to answer your questions to talk about the different options that are available to you. We’re also here to help you prepare your CV and apply for any apprenticeship vacancies that you’re interested in.
Here’s what a couple of our apprentices who started an apprenticeship after 6th Form have to say about their experience….
“I’ve progressed so much since starting my apprenticeship last year after Sixth Form. I work with employers and learners at YH Training Services and it’s such a rewarding job…I love everything that I do as a part of it! I’m now working towards my Advanced Apprenticeship and when I’ve completed that I’d really like to become Business Development Advisor for the Hull learning centre and continue to work alongside the amazing team that have helped me to grow so much.” – Sophie, 19, Business Development Assistant
“My apprenticeship was a stepping stone. It allowed me to get a qualification in the industry I knew I wanted to build a career in. At the same time, I was able to earn and support myself rather than be burdened by the debts associated with going to University! I’ve already got a better job as a result and I’ll continue to progress in this industry.” – Jay, 23, IT Help Desk Engineer
So, if you’re considering the apprenticeship route, please do visit our website, call us, or drop into your local centre.
