YH is an approved provider of Government funded work-based learning and currently the following are provided FREE to employers for any staff under the age of 25.
Storage and Distribution
These are delivered in the workplace at no charge to the employer or employee as long as the employee is over the age of 19 and does not already hold a Level 2 or equivalent qualification such as 5 GCSEs A-C. Employers may also receive a wage subsidy dependent on their size of business. Currently, Train2Gain is available in West and South Yorkshire and it will become available in North Yorkshire and Humberside in May/June 2005.
In exceptional circumstances, employees without a Level 2 could receive free training to Level 3.
Skills for Life/Essential Work Skills
Adult Literacy Adult Numeracy
These are available to any employee over the age of 19 who is assessed as requiring help in either literacy or numeracy in order that they can carry out their duties at work more effectively.
Other services
YH is happy to provide cost-effective solutions to any other training requirements you may have and we would be pleased to provide costs for any training that is not covered by the above fully funded training, eg IOSH Working Safely Certificate.
We may be able to obtain further support from the LSC for some of your other requirements in exceptional circumstances.
If you are in work, over 25 and do not currently possess a Level 2 qualification, which could be an NVQ Level 2 or five GCSEs A-C, you can train towards an NVQ Level 2 with YH at no cost to you or your employer through Employer Training Pilots (ETPs), which in Yorkshire and Humberside is referred to as Train2Gain. Your employer can, in some instances, receive a wage subsidy whilst you are training.
In addition, if you are in work and feel that you may need some help with essential work skills such as Numeracy and Literacy, YH can also provide these to you completely free of charge. The training will be sensitively delivered in the workplace in conjunction with your employer. You will also almost certainly need some training away from the workplace, which could be in a training room provided by your employer or alternatively at one of our Centres. Where possible, the training will be based on Units of an NVQ in order for it to relate to your work.
