Accountancy Levels 2, 3 and 4

The Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship aims to give the skills and knowledge needed to begin a career in accountancy within a variety of organisations.

The Level 3 (Advanced) Apprenticeship aims to give the skills and knowledge to build a career and to be able to carry out more complex accounting tasks such as producing final accounts for sole traders and partnerships, completing year-end adjustments and maintaining cost accounting records.

The Level 4 (Higher)  Diploma aims to give the skills and knowledge to build a career in accountancy and to be able to carry out higher level accounting tasks such as managing budgets, drafting financial statements for limited companies and evaluating the financial performance of a business.

Business Administration Levels 2 and 3

This Apprenticeship aims to provide the skills and knowledge needed to work in administrative roles in a variety of organisations. For the Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship, these  roles include, but are not limited to; administrators, office juniors, receptionists and junior legal or medical secretaries. Level 3 (Advanced) Apprentices will work in roles such as administration officers, team leaders, personal assistants and secretaries.

People in a wide range of office-based roles, whether new to the business administration role or those or who recently been promoted into the position. The qualifications are designed to cater for the wide range and diversity of job roles where competence in business administration is vital.

Customer Service Levels 2 and 3

The Customer Service Level 2 (Intermediate) and Level 3 (Advanced) Apprenticeships respond to the employers need for high levels of customer service skills within a wide range of organisations. Customer service skills are transferable across sectors and can be applied to many job roles.

Who would benefit?

Everyone who is new to the customer service role or has recently been promoted will benefit. Both levels of qualification are relevant in any customer service environment, including; Customer Service Trainees, Assistants and Representatives/Agents. Level 3 (Advanced) Apprentices may be Customer Relationship Managers, Coordinators and Team Leaders.

  • Identify specific needs through effective questioning and listening.
  • Communicate effectively using customer service language.
  • Promote additional services or products to customers.

Functional Skills English, Entry Level 1 up to Level 2

Functional Skills provide people with all the necessary tools and abilities to take an active role in their community, everyday life, education and the workplace. The importance of maths in daily life is beyond question. Almost every job requires the ability  use English confidently. However there is continuing concern about literacy amongst adults and young people, both in terms of the impact their own life chances and the productivity of the UK economy.

The aims of these qualifications are to:
1. Provide people with the underpinning knowledge to achieve mastery of Functional Skills in all the subject areas of English
2. Allow people to then transfer these skills and apply them appropriately in a variety of real-life situations. This is what makes them functional.

  • Entry Level 3 is where the level of skills required to the problems will be straightforward with tutor guidance and support available.
  • Level 1 is where the skills required are more precise and require a greater level of judgement to find an appropriate solution, guidance is provided but learners should be able to find problem solving solutions independently.
  • Level 2 is where choices must be made independently and evaluated but guidance can be provided.

A Level 2 is equivalent to GCSE grades A-C

Who would benefit?

These qualifications have been developed for the widest range of learners possible at all ages and in any role within a business.  They are available to ANYONE who has not achieved GCSE A*-C grades or equivalent in English  and is FREE of charge.

Healthcare Support Services Level 2

The Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of healthcare support workers to ensure that the organisations working practice and ethos is maintained to the highest standards required by such a professional and caring industry.

Who would benefit?

People in a wide range of Healthcare support roles whether they are new to Healthcare support or have recently been promoted into the position. This qualification builds and confirms competence in a range of healthcare support service skills. We are predominantly delivering this within the Yorkshire Ambulance Service Trust (YAS) however it is available in other similar organisations.

Health Informatics Levels 2 and 3

The Level 2 (Intermediate) qualification covers the skills and knowledge for dealing with paper or electronic data/information in the following key areas; Input and handling of data,  validation and quality assurance of data, production of reports from a variety of sources and the  dissemination of information; including all   aspects around its storage, security and disclosure.

The Level 3 (Advanced) qualification is about the promotion of good practice. It covers the handling of information such as; preparing, conducting and reporting results, managing health informatics and maintaining quality.

Who would benefit? 

The Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship provides certification of competence for those working or wishing to work in the Health Informatics Career Framework in such positions as:- Receptionists, Administration assistants  and Health records clerks,  Data entry clerks and clinical coding.

The Level 3 (Advanced) Apprenticeship is designed to underpin the skills of those in or seeking to progress to an Assistant Practitioner role (CF4 Level ) of the Health Informatics Career Framework and prepare for future roles at Practitioner (CF5 Level).

At Level 2; With guidance a learner will be able to process, report and use data held in a paper based format or within an ICT system. When using an ICT system to gather, store or report on data the candidate may be using standard or bespoke software relevant to their organisation.

The Level 2 ( Intermediate) Apprenticeship in Hospitality is designed to develop the skills and knowledge of hospitality workers to ensure that the organisations working practice and ethos are maintained to the highest standards whilst responding to the needs of the customer.

This qualification will benefit, and is suitable for anyone who is new to, or works in a variety of hospitality areas such as; front of house, back of house, housekeeping, and within the food and beverage sector.

IT Levels 2 and 3

The IT qualifications at Levels 2 (Intermediate) and 3  (Advanced)  are designed to cater for the wide range and diversity of job roles where competence in IT is vital.

Whether a person is new to the role or have recently been promoted, they can benefit from the flexibility of the qualification which allows a variety of options to match individual job roles.

We deliver two versions, IT User for the user i.e. Administrator role and an IT Professional for the Support/Technical role – both these qualifications can allow you to gain Microsoft qualifications – Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS) or Microsoft Technology Associate ( MTA )

Who would benefit?

This qualification is designed for people working with IT systems and software.  The wide range of optional units which can be studied are tailored to  match individual business and job role requirements.  Some of the job roles this would be suitable for are:-

  • Providing support and assistance to colleagues to make effective use of available IT systems and software.
  • Developing, testing and implementing solutions to improve workplace productivity through the use of IT.
  • Using the advanced features of IT Application Software in the creation and amendment of many types of formatted information including documents, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Create and maintaining websites, using the internet to find and exchange information and using social media to disseminate information.
  • Networking knowledge including OSI 7 layer model and TCP/IP model

The IT Qualification will benefit individuals and businesses by enabling them to meet many objectives. Listed below are just a few examples:

  • The maintenance of your IT system and the setting up of a system from taking out of the box to using it
  • The IT user qualification can allow you to gain the MOS qualification
  • The underpinning knowledge in Network principles
  • Creation and amendment of many types of formatted information including documents, diagrams, spreadsheets and presentations.
  • Maintaining websites, using the internet to find and exchange information and using social media to disseminate information.
  • Entering and editing data using software such as Customer Relationship Management; Accounts; Payroll and Stock control systems and producing routine reports from the data held.
  • Ability to use a software application designed
    to create, modify and layout artwork and images for display in print or on a screen (e.g. painting, drawing, photo manipulation and desk top publishing).
  • Maintaining networks and repair and upgrading of IT systems
  • The IT Professional qualification allows you to gain the MTA Certificate

Management Levels 3 and 5

The Management Level 3 (Advanced) and Level 5 (Higher) Apprenticeship has been developed to support those working as first line managers, section managers, assistant managers, trainee managers, senior supervisors, and those working in a range of other management positions. It will develop the skills and knowledge of managers who are responsible for managing a team to achieve targets and planned outputs.

Who will benefit?

The Level 3 (Advanced)is designed for those who are entering a management role, those who manage a team and are responsible for its performance and middle managers who have a wider managerial role, which could include recruitment and budgetary responsibilities.

The Level 5 (Higher) will allow practising or potential senior managers to develop themselves through gaining knowledge, skills and understanding related to today’s senior leadership and management practices.

Level 3 (Advanced)

Manufacturing PMO Level 2

This  Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship focuses on operating effectively in a manufacturing environment. Typical job roles include assembly operations of electrical and electronic products, vehicles, aerospace, marine, metal goods and production of moulded products. Other roles include receiving and checking raw materials and sub-assemblies, inspection, test and quality control.

Who will benefit? 

The PMO qualification has been developed to provide the required knowledge, understanding and skills, in the manufacturing sector to ensure staff are working to the correct systems and procedures and working to all quality control procedures.  Operators who work in the process operations within a business, whether in a new or newly promoted to the role will benefit.  It enables them to understand the major aspects of the job from initial preparation of the job right through to concluding the operations and quality checking.

The Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship develops the skills and knowledge of people working as sales assistants, customer service assistants, stock room assistants together with more specialised roles such as beauty consultants who are dealing with customers in all aspects of retail sales.

The Level 3 (Advanced) Apprenticeship is aimed at supervisors, team leaders, department managers or the store manager at a small outlet and has three pathways: Sales professional, Management and Visual Merchandising.

Who will benefit?

People who are new to the retail environment or those who have recently been promoted into the role. The qualifications are relevant in a variety of retail settings, including shops, department stores and e-retail.

They also reflect the range and depth of competence in retail operation skills, required by individuals working in all retail organisations. There are many areas covered in the qualification and our Trainer can discuss and provide you with a comprehensive list of units.

This Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship is designed to meet the needs of employers of all sizes across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors and is designed to meet employer skills priorities.

Tasks undertaken will vary depending on the level and sector in which people are employed. Tasks may include; selling face-to-face or by telephone, processing sales orders, supporting customers in obtaining finance for purchases, generating and qualifying sales leads, meeting after sales needs, making presentations, supervising sales or telesales staff, and many many more.

Who will benefit? 

Employees in a wide range of sales roles whether new to the industry role or those who have been promoted to the role.  The qualification is designed to cater for the wide range and diversity of job roles where competence in selling is vital.

Training undertaken will vary depending on the level and sector in which they are employed, but may include; planning, allocating and monitoring the work of the team, giving feedback, briefing teams, supporting team members, managing conflict, resolving problems, project management,  improving customer service and much more

This qualification is designed for those who have been promoted into a management role or, those who are new to team leading and lead a team and are responsible for its performance. It also provides the first steps towards preparing for progression to a management qualification.

The Team Leading Qualification will benefit your business and employees by enabling them to meet many objectives; listed below are just a few examples:

  • Identify and assess progress against performance requirements in their own work role.

Warehousing and Storage Levels 2 and 3

This Level 2 (Intermediate) Apprenticeship is for people who are employed in warehousing or storage roles, such as staff who undertake a range of warehouse activities and those in supervisory roles.

The Level 3 (Advanced) Apprenticeship is for people who work or want to work as a senior team member in a warehousing operation within the logistics sector.

Who will benefit? 

Operatives in logistics operations, this could be working in warehousing and storage, transport or freight forwarding, whether new to the job role or having  recently been promoted into the position.

The Warehousing and Storage Qualification will benefit both your business and employees enabling them to meet many objectives; listed below are just a few examples:

  • Take responsibility for their own health, safety and security in the workplace, and monitor the workplace for hazards.
  • Take action in the event of an incident.
  • Place goods into storage in logistics operations in order to maximise space, improve distribution and reduce risks.
  • Prepare and process customer orders and know how to assemble orders for despatch.
  • Keep the workplace clean and tidy and maintain appropriate or required hygiene standards.
  • Understand the safe operation of both mobile and fixed equipment with the ability to identify the correct equipment for the task.
  • Contribute to the provision of customer services in logistics operations.
  • Deal with returned goods, check to identify condition and re-label if required.
