Eager to gain experience and qualifications at the same time, I applied to study with AAT at my nearest YH Training centre, in Huddersfield.  Having been at Appleton Dale for three years now, I have found that working for a local Accountancy firm has exposed me to a wide range of responsibilities; this may not have been the case at a larger firm. I have also noticed the different qualities one must possess to become a successful accountant such as being self- motivated, having good communication skills and obviously being comfortable with numbers, qualities that I have been able to develop working for a smaller firm.
