Introduction to Customer Service Level 1

Who is it suitable for?

This accredited qualification is designed to cover the basic elements of how to deliver an excellent customer service experience. Over the course of 8-10 weeks we will work on key aspects of Customer Service, including:

  • Understanding and appreciating behaviours important when dealing with customers
  • Gaining knowledge of key legislative/ regulatory requirements relating to Customer Service
  • Considering different approaches to dealing with customer queries and requests
  • Exploring how Customer Service underpins many career opportunities
  • Recognising the importance of internal and external customers – and our impact on ‘the customer service experience’

Who would benefit? 

This qualification has been developed for the widest range of learners possible both young people and adults, for those who are pre-employment or between jobs.  Through gaining a nationally recognised City and Guilds qualification, we are certain you will strengthen your CV and gain greater self-confidence when applying for a wide range of jobs requiring an element of customer service.
You don’t need to have any prior qualifications. The Award in Customer Service will provide you with a basic understanding of the impact of customer service and will equip you with the necessary skills to work and support customer service delivery.

It is currently FREE for anyone who is unemployed.

Outcomes and Progression

This is a nationally recognised qualification and will assist you in gaining employment within a Customer service environment.  You can then progress onto a Level 2 (Intermediate)  or Level 3 (Advanced) depending on the role you’re undertaking.
