ECDL Level 1 and Level 2 (Intermediate)

Who are they suitable for?

Employers need people who can contribute to achieving goals in the most efficient and productive way. ECDL gives you the computer skills to do this. That’s why it is recognised and valued by companies around the world as the benchmark in IT user competence. Over 2 million people have taken ECDL in the UK alone.

The qualifications are short courses to help you to develop essential IT skills.   The course runs in one of our local centres and takes 10 weeks (one day per week) for Level 1 and 20 weeks (one day per week) at Level 2 (Intermediate)

The Level 1 Award  covers word processing, spreadsheet software, and presentation software.

The Level 2 (Intermediate) Certificate goes into greater depth on the above and also has an addition unit; Improving productivity using IT which looks at using tools to save time and effort when producing word processed documents, presentations and spreadsheets

Who would benefit?

People looking to gain employment in a wide range of office-based roles, whether new to IT or those with some experience. It has been developed for the widest range of learners both young people and adults, and for those who are pre-employment or between jobs. The course will help increase your employability and confidence and will help you gain a new set of skills and understanding within IT.

It is currently FREE for anyone who is unemployed.

Outcomes and Progression

You would have the confidence and competence to undertake a wide range of IT functions on completion. here is a large number of progression routes depending on the role you move into.
