Association of Acount Technicians, AAT,  are a professional membership body, who award skills-based accountancy and finance qualifications.  They award around 90% of all vocational qualifications in accounting, and are sponsored by the professional accounting bodies CIPFA, ICAEW, CIMA and ICAS.

By achieving Investors in People Status, which we we awarded 18 years ago, it shows we embed best practice, recognise our achievements and show we value our employees.

City and Guilds are the leading skills development organisation, providing services to training providers, employers, and trainees across a variety of sectors to meet the needs of today’s workplace. Their qualifications are valued by employers across the world, helping individuals develop their talents and abilities for career progression.

The matrix Standard is the unique quality standard for organisations to assess and measure their advice and support services, which ultimately supports individuals in their choice of career, learning, work and life goals.

EAL is the specialist, employer-recognised awarding organisation for the engineering, manufacturing, building services and related sectors.

NCFE is recognised as an Awarding Organisation by the qualification regulators (‘regulators’) for England, Wales and Northern Ireland. The regulators are the Office of the Qualifications and Examinations Regulator (Ofqual) in England, the Welsh Government in Wales and the Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment (CCEA) in Northern Ireland.

The Institute of Leadership & Management (ILM) is the UK’s largest management body.  ILM combines industry-leading qualifications and specialist member services.

Ofsted is the Office for Standards in Education, Children’s Services and Skills. They inspect and regulate services that care for children and young people, and services providing education and skills for learners of all ages.  Ofsted is a non-ministerial department.

Partners and Memberships

The Skills Funding Agency (SFA) fund skills training for further education (FE) in England. They  support over 1,000 colleges, private training organisations, and employers with £3.6 billion of funding each year. The SFA is an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Business, Innovation & Skills.

We hold our own direct funding contacts with the SFA to provide Apprenticeships and other qualifications

The Education Funding Agency (EFA) manage £54 billion of funding a year to support all state-provided education for 8 million children aged 3 to 16, and 1.6 million young people aged 16 to 19.  They are an executive agency, sponsored by the Department for Education.

We hold our own direct funding contracts with the EFA.

The European Social Fund (ESF) is part of the European Structural Funds which seek to reduce differences in prosperity and enhance economic and social cohesion across the EU.  The ESF was set up to to help people into work and to invest skills and training of those furthest from the labour market.

The Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP) is the leading trade association for vocational learning and employment providers in Britain.  The majority of its 670+ members are independent private, not-for-profit and voluntary sector training and employment services organisations.  Membership is open to any provider committed to quality provision and it includes 38 FE colleges involved in work based learning. AELP Members train 75% of England’s 850,000 apprentices currently on programme.

Apprenticeships are a key route into a succesful career An Apprenticeship is a real job with training which allows the Apprentice to earn while they learn,
whilst gaining a nationally recognised qualification. Apprenticeships take between one and five years to complete and cover 1500 job roles in a wide
range of industries, from engineering to accountancy, public relations to veterinary nursing. Apprenticeships are now available up to degree level and

From an employer perspective, if you have a role to fill an Apprentice could provide the effective solution. The combination of training and hands-on experience that comes with an Apprenticeship is an ideal way of ensuring you get someone who will have the necessary skills to do the job.

A Traineeship is an education and training provision with work experience that unlocks the great potential of young people and prepares them for their future careers by helping them to become ‘work ready’.  Designed to help young people aged 16 to 24 who don’t yet have the appropriate skills or experience, traineeships provide the essential work preparation training, English, maths and work experience needed to secure an apprenticeship or employment.

From an employer perspective, the flexibility of traineeships offers employers the opportunity to help build a pool of high quality future recruits for your sector.
